Dreams

In the past couple of years I have found myself drawn more and more to dreams ..this wasn't just a general curiousity.

I couldn't get enough of them .. people were telling me their dreams more and more .. so obviously I had to gain more knowledge on the subject.

I was into everything I could get hold of on the subject, info about famous dream analysts (esp Jung and Frued)shared dream experiences and so on.

You see dreams aren't just a way to fill our nights. They aren't simply imagination. Dreams hold so much symbolism that is very personal to us.

So by being able to pick away at the dream ...............noticing any colours, numbers, people, feelings, weather conditions(the list goes on), we then put together our thoughts on what these symbols mean to us.

The outcome should be a lovely message for us to aid us and help us with any problems, fears, dilemas and stumbling blocks.

We can also use this to help others with their dreams, keeping in mind that the symbology is very personal to the dreamer, but in general the meanings will be similar.

Although I prefer to do dreams from personal interpretation of the symbols given, I will include on the page some general dream meanings for the more common dreams.

I want to learn more and more about dreams but seems like the more I learn the more there is to learn.. can't say im unhappy about that mind you!

Some Symbolism

Animals in dreams are very common. These may indicate areas of your life that need the nature/strength/personality of that animal.

For example, a lion would indicate courage and strength also pride and protectiveness of your pack. Knowing a little on totems and animal symology will help you here find the meanings of particular animals.

Birth in dreams would perhaps inidcate a new development in an area of your life.

Giving birth to an idea so to speak, although as with any dream it may not be symbolic but more simplistic, perhaps you long for a child and this would be in your thoughts during sleep.

Carsin dreams (like other modes of transport in dreams)represent your progression, how fast are you moving in the dream .. do you stop or break down etc .. all these aspects should be taken into account when working on your dream.

Death in a dream ... as negative as this sounds has prooven to me to be one of the most wonderful dreams. It is usually symbolic of the end of the old and begining of a new and more often than not it is usually in a possitive, productive way.

Eagles in a dream... represent spiritual growth. Soaring to the heavens and being in touch with spirit, this is one of the most respected of totem animals.
